Our Team

Meet the people behind Mane Motions.

Mane Motions is shaped by the people who helped create it, support it and bring its mission into the community.

Dawn Miller, Foundation President of Mane Motions Therapy Foundation

Foundation President

Dawn Miller, OTR/L

Dawn Miller, OTR/L, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas in 1986. She moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she began working with the pediatric population in early intervention, customized therapeutic equipment, school systems, and private therapy clinics. She received her certification in Neuro-Developmental Therapy (NDT) for children in 1989 and began specializing in neuromuscular function and movement disorders.

She moved back to Kansas with her family in 2000 and began homeschooling her four sons while teaching Biology and Anatomy to homeschool co-ops in the Kansas City area. Dawn began working for Poss-Abilities Children’s Therapy Group in Merriam, Kansas, in 2014. She continues to serve children with neuromuscular disorders and cognitive challenges, utilizing the MiraColt™ as a clinic-based therapy tool.

Dawn later began Mane Motions Therapy Foundation, a nonprofit outreach mobile therapy service designed to enhance the benefits of horseback riding by using a mechanical horse. She hopes her services with the MiraColt™ will work together with current riding facilities to increase access for children as they transition to the benefits of actual horseback riding.

Dawn lives in Olathe, Kansas, where she is active in her local church and enjoys fellowship opportunities with friends and family. She enjoys riding horses and learning about their therapeutic value for people of all ages. Dawn plans to continue growing the foundation and serves as a pediatric facilitator in equine applied learning at Living Life Ranch in Gardner, Kansas.
